City Hall
Here’s where and when to vote: early voting for the November 3 election runs Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 30. Registered voters can vote at any vote center in their county of residence, including two options within Sachse’s own municipal complex: Dallas County residents can vote at the City Hall Courtroom, and Collin County residents can vote at the Michael J. Felix Community Center, Rooms A/B. More details at the city’s election information page.
Because Sachse straddles Dallas and Collin counties, residents will see different items on the ballot depending on which county they live in, including a proposed Dallas County property tax increase for homelessness, mental health, and housing programs, and a Collin College bond package. Separately, the Sachse City Council meeting scheduled for Monday, October 19 has been cancelled. No other city board meetings with substantial items are on the calendar this week.

The city’s Bond 2027 Committee, a seven-member citizen panel, is reviewing infrastructure needs ahead of a possible bond election. Scott McMurdie was elected chair on October 8. The committee is looking at major roads (an estimated $84.6 million), neighborhood street repairs on more than 20 rights-of-way ($14.5 million), improvements to Fire Station No. 1 ($3.9 million to $8.4 million) and Fire Station No. 2 ($2.9 million to $6.2 million, with members citing flooding and water intrusion at Station No. 2), a police and public safety storage facility ($6.1 million to $11.9 million), and Heritage Park upgrades ($6.1 million to improve existing amenities or $11.7 million to expand them). Combined, the projects discussed total more than $100 million. The committee meets again October 27 and December 8, with a recommendation to go to council, which has until February 22 to decide whether to call a May 1, 2027 bond election. What this means: The city says it can borrow up to $55.5 million without raising the tax rate. The projects the committee is discussing add up to more than $100 million, roughly double that capacity. Closing that gap would likely require either a voter-approved bond election, a higher tax rate, or trimming the project list — no decision on any of that has been made yet.
Schools
The board's most recent meetings were committee sessions on October 6; its next regular meeting is not yet posted for this date range.
